Re: Aaaand won't be buy any Razor products
I've never been a fan of Razor. From the packaging, to the hardware, to the quality, to the software, to reliability, and to customer server, Steelseries and Logitech make Razor seem like amateurs. Sure, some of Razors products look flashy with super-duper L.E.Ds, but thats about all they have going for them imo.

eh, I've had pretty good luck with Razer products. We've had my wifes Diamondback for probably 7-8 years now and it still works like a champ(as a matter of fact it's what I'm using right now because my MX518 finally shit the bed). My biggest problem with them is that they just don't feel right in my hand.
Regardless, requiring an online connection for a mouse is asinine. You should have the OPTION to register it online to update your profiles. It should never be mandatory.Glitch liked this post

My mx518 just died as well. Thousands of hours of intense use later.
But to require an online connection to make proper use of the mouse even once is crazy.
Who travels with their mouse and plugs it into different computers often enough for this to even make sense?

My 4 yr old lachesis has been abused, dropped, fell onto and cracked... It keeps going! I mean the thing is an absolute brute! It happily uses stock drivers but you would miss it on the insane features these mice hold! The sad thing is it has been used so heavily that I do need to replace it soon. Now torn because I hate new mouse shopping! My choice will be between the logitech and razr.

Yeah, just saw this. Came here to post it, and Alundil is one-step-ahead.
I've got an MX-518 too.
The troubling part to me isn't the requirement for a network connection (though that's a big pile of fail), it's them assigning themselves the right to data-mine your activity.

I have a full Logitech setup for this very reason. G600 mmo gaming mouse, g19 keyboard, g13 gaming pad, g930 wireless headset. They all work off the same software and all have on device memory storage to save my profiles for use on other machines. No cloud based crap, and no activation required to use them.

Ive had my death adder for prolly 7-8yrs, hasnt let me down once, My tarantula has been through everything and now the letters on the keys are wearing off and it STILL goes on, However i will admit i am disappointed with the new synapse 2.0, its rather annoying. I did have my logitech g19, but sadly a can of monster destroyed that, Which by the way the logitech g19 is built for spill resistant, has a covering underneath the keys and another one just after that, Do they work? No. they suck, that whole keyboard is a POS, Why should i have to plug a keyboard into a wall outlet for it to work? Anyways, Im prolly going to look into Steel series for my next keyboard.
