IBM creates First cheap Eletronic-PHotonic Chip
IBM creates first cheap, commercially viable, electronic-photonic integrated chip | ExtremeTech
Simply put this is one hell of a major advancement. IBM has fully integrated Photo optics (IE light signals) with standard electronics right along side it at 90nm manufacturing process for cheap (well probably cheap).

i am curious when we will see it in home computers, too. they say it's gonna be used in cloud computing first. i read the article on quantum computers at the bottom - that's really mindblowing!

Ugggg fuck binary, stop making binary hardware damnit.
Didnt they also just make some quantum chip? Was an article in one of my scholarly periodicles didn't read it yet...
