Re: Need New Headphones
I've like the options and capability of my x-fi from creative. It's not perfect but it's better than the built in audio on most motherboards. However, it seems that getting true analog 5.1/7.1 headsets is problematic. Using the dolby digital headsets seems to be the preferred method for higher quality sound while retaining reasonable positional audio.
I'm going to retest my psyko's and see if I can figure out why the center channel is louder on the left than right side. If I can't get those fixed, I'll probably break down and get the G930's.
Again, this is for gaming on the PC with a headset. I'm not an audiophile but I can hear distortion and other issues which can annoy the crap out of me. Especially unequal channel balance which has been my latest issue with the 5.1 headphones I've had.Last edited by RhysJD3; 02-06-13 at 02:28 PM.

Re: Need New Headphones
I have the 930 since for some reason it was cheaper at Best Buy than the G35. The sound quality is decent but nothing worth writing home about. I wish I had gotten this SteelSeries though - SteelSeries - Gaming Headsets - SteelSeries Siberia V2
I had one of those from when they were Icemat and they are insanely comfortable. The Logitechs are not comfortable for very long.

Google a little first
G35s vary in price I paid $80CAD
Amazon.com: Logitech G35 7.1-Channel Surround Sound Headset: Electronics $95
Newegg.com - Refurbished: Logitech G35 USB 2.0 Connector Surround Sound Headset $75 (refurb pretty much = brand new)
Newegg.com - Logitech G35 USB 2.0 Connector Surround Sound Headset $99 (new)

Icemats(or I suppose Steelseries Siberia's now) are insanely comfortable with good sound for gaming. The wife and I both have a pair and love them. Have a rep for being a little bit fragile but the only time I've ever had an issue with my was running over an earphone with my chair(yay for drunk gaming). Luckily Icemat replaced them in good order without any fuss.

I own G35's. You can't go wrong for the money. I'd say the get you 95% of the way for gaming.
If you want to spend $200 instead of less than $80. IMO best pc headset.
I'd go with Sennheiser PC350
