Spliting Monitors

I have two 7800GTX's running SLI and I'm wondering how to split 2 monitors completely so I can have one thing running in one monitor and another program running in the 2nd one. Is this even possible, if so please tell me how!

    -Thnx, Blackhawk

i dont think thats possible when running in SLI, either you disable SLI or one of the monitors goes dead. Something about an inherent technology limitation - you might find some hacks out on google if you search around...

Using the 93. whatever drivers you can run games in SLI but run a dual monitor desktop. When you are gaming though it will send one screen blank.

So it would be just be a repeat of the previous screen. So no dual monitoring without hacks. Ok, thanks.

no, you can extend your desktop as well, but as noted, if you load a game, then the computer will shut off the secondary monitor. though there are games/apps that allow you to play games across multiple monitors...usually flight sims.

if you have two monitors and two computers, then you can have a sort of pseudo kvm/vnc via synergy. i have it setup with xp on my main and freebsd on my secondary...its a pretty smooth little application...i was impressed once i got it running. that might be a little too involved/techie than youre looking for though.

Yes I do, but seeing that it's almost impossible and if I want it I'd have to go crazy with some components, so I'll settle with what I have.

What kind of programs are you talking about running on two different monitors?

    Re: Spliting Monitors

I was curious about this also. I have two monitors and I'm running SLI also. Its annoying having to swap SLI on and off for when I game and it is getting to the point where I forget to turn it off which leaves the second monitor not in use. Then its just a wast of money...If I leave it of and game then the resolution thing comes in to play and its annoying. Were you saying that there is a program that can help this?
