Proper GPU Swap Outs
Ok, so I've heard many people discuss different ways of dealing with this. I'm looking for the proper way to uninstall drivers for video cards before swapping it out with a different one (especially going from ATI to Nvidia). I currently have an ATI Radeon 5770 XXX Edition and I'm about to put in a GTX 570.
I've heard about uninstalling it via control panel > programs > uninstall catalyst suite - but then reboot in safe mode and run driver sweeper.
Is this the correct way to do it?hannibal liked this post

Yeah, I did Driver Sweeper-> install card-> install NVIDIA drivers, for my swap from 5870 to GTX580 and it worked very well, I think this is a more conservative approach and will probably work a little better. As White says the NVIDIA clean install option is the way to go moving forward. IMHO, AMD has jumped the shark with there graphics products. NVIDIA drivers are still excellent though.
