    Considering a new PC

I'm considering buying a new rig. I have a mouse, keyboard, speakers, and monitor.

Money is tight, so this might take a while. So, my question is, what can I buy now or shortly without fear of it being obsolete?

    I'm thinking:
    The Case.
    Power Supply.
    Optical Drive.

(Sorta like buying the PC piece by piece to make it easier money-wise.)

    Thoughts?

Save the money for now and wait for a new egg sale. July is coming up.

    Re: Considering a new PC

Never buy it one piece at a time.

    1) Create a budget (something you can save up for in X number of months
    2) Pick out parts based on that budget (but do not buy them)
    3) Save money
    4) When you have enough money, look to see if you can buy better parts than what you originally selected or see if the parts you selected before have come down in price

You should never buy the items bit by bit because by the time you go to buy, if you would have just waited, the odds are you would he able to purchase the component cheaper the longer you waited.

So question 1: What is your budget?

I agree with heavy, but IMO you should wait on getting a cooler until you know for sure what socket type your CPU will be.

It doesn't matter and if want the possibility of over clocking a cooler will be advantages all in all I see nothing wrong with the box.

Socket 1150 is around the corner. I'm also NOT saying to not get a cooler eventually. I'm saying to not get one now.
