I'd just wait and see, beta is so close.

The six cores are socket 2011. You have a (not looking but I'm betting) socket 1366. So no. You could not. You would need to get a 1366 cpu. Not sure what the best 1366 is at the moment, but might be better off getting a new mobo and cpu combo. If you go 1155 you won't have to get more memory. If you go 2011 you'll need more memory because they are quad channel boards.

I am digging it. I was given a big budget for gaming PCs by the boss. But I am waiting for Black Friday for maximum purchasing power. I have not built any gaming rigs in some time and I have to get up to speed between now and then so this has been helpful.

My last computer was a 1366 socket CPU, Core i7 920. I bought it the same month they were released. In the last few months I had been thinking about also just upgrading my CPU to something else on the 1366 socket but ultimately I decided against it. It may seem like there isn't going to be much of a difference between the Nehalem and the brand new Haswell because they are all close to the same speeds and quad-core but trust me there is. The new Haswells are lower in power needs and they are also just more efficient for cycles. You should see a 30%+ improvement.
Because of this I upgraded to a Haswell machine July 4th and I'm very happy with it. My new build was about $1400. I'd highly suggest doing this since it should last you another 5 years like my Nehalem system did, with only GPU upgrades in between. That is of course if your current system no longer meets your needs.
