My brother has this one - he's not too fond of it. I've tried it as well and wasn't super impressed. What it does extremely well is how much it can be modified to fit your hand. It's very different though, so be sure you spend some time getting it just right. I have a few friends with it who absolutely love theirs though; it sounds pretty polarizing. I think if you get it and spend the time getting it just right, you'll love it.
I've got a few mice I switch between from time to time for my different PCs. My all-time favorite mouse (discontinued so it's hard to find) is the Logitech G5. I've got 2 of them, but one is dead and I'm trying to repair it.
This mouse comes with the weight cartridge and a canister with different weights in it; you can customize it to the exact weight you want it and the feel is just perfect.
I've also got the Steelseries Sensei. I cannot stress how light this mouse is - it is a very good mouse and it just glides across everything. I love it, but I think the G5 is still my #1. Just f.y.i - the color of the scroll wheel, the light in the palm, and the LED in the middle aren't exclusive to the mouse - all sensei mice have all of the different colors in them, you just change the color to whatever you want in the options. Something cool that most mice don't have.
I've also got a Razer Death-Adder (the normal non ambidextrous one). I like the rubberized texture of the death adder, it makes it nice to hold, but it isn't quite as nice in my opinion as the other two. Great mouse, don't get me wrong, but it's not quite right for me. I gave it to my brother for the time being to use until he replaces his R.A.T.
Judging with the performance of the steelseries, the heft of the G5, and the texture of the Deathadder - I'm super intrigued by the new Sensei Raw. It's the same hardware as the sensei but with a rubberized exterior instead of the plastic.

I'd recommend taking a look at Zowie. They aren't very well known but they make great mice. They have very solid build quality and they use the Avago A3090 sensor which tracks great on pretty much every surface/setting. They have models to fit every grip type.
