Spiffy. Good to see people going with RAM that isn't Corsair. Barf.

    Oops, that's actually the wrong RAM. I'm actually getting G.SKILL Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

I wanted the 7 ms CAS latency

Fixed it in the OP too

    G.SKILL Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C7D-16GTX - Newegg.com

    Expensive power supply...

I would go with a gold or bronze rated power supply as the efficiency in terms of any type of cost savings will take you 8-10 years before breaking even. Try to find a more affordable PSU, and drop in a larger SSD.

That is my opinion... Otherwise, everything looks fantastic!

I'll look at gold. I didn't realize the difference was that small. Not sure if I want to spend the money on the larger SSD

If you're going to get a Dark Knight II, you aren't going to get an unlocked i5? Granted, you'll need to get lucky on the chip, as I have a shitty binned 4670K myself. I also hope you did your research on the size of the Dark Knight II and the height of your RAM. Large air coolers like that are known for RAM clearance issues.

Personally, I would swap out the Corsair PSU for a SeaSonic one, but maybe that's just brand loyalty speaking.

    Otherwise, everything looks good.

I really have never messed with overclocking before, so i didn't think there was much reason to get an unlocked one. I'll look into clearance with the ram. I think the corsair was just cheaper than seasonic, while still being highly regarded

I have Corsair power supplies in 4 rigs. Nothing wrong with them and they all come highly rated.

    This.

I have them in two rigs right now, and will be getting another one tomorrow (RM 1000). Never had any issues. Corsair makes a great psu.
