Re: New build
Oops, that's actually the wrong RAM. I'm actually getting G.SKILL Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
I wanted the 7 ms CAS latency
Fixed it in the OP too

Expensive power supply...
I would go with a gold or bronze rated power supply as the efficiency in terms of any type of cost savings will take you 8-10 years before breaking even. Try to find a more affordable PSU, and drop in a larger SSD.
That is my opinion... Otherwise, everything looks fantastic!

updated here: About the same price still ( low 1600s)
Switched out the SSD and PSU. Also just received a 250 newegg gift card, which (on top of my 100 off to amazon) is awesome

If you're going to get a Dark Knight II, you aren't going to get an unlocked i5? Granted, you'll need to get lucky on the chip, as I have a shitty binned 4670K myself. I also hope you did your research on the size of the Dark Knight II and the height of your RAM. Large air coolers like that are known for RAM clearance issues.
Personally, I would swap out the Corsair PSU for a SeaSonic one, but maybe that's just brand loyalty speaking.
Otherwise, everything looks good."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."
