Ping and Steam Connection Issues
So for a while now something has been going on with my online gaming. Whenever I try to play TF2 on TPG servers my ping goes from a nice low 20 all up to 900+, then back down, then back up. I constanstly lose connection to Steam as well. When I try BL2 I get disconnected as well. Ive tried the online PCPitstop to check my connection and it seems to be fine. The ping looks good (~30) as well as the download and upload speeds. After I talked to a friend he said that ATT Uverse (which I have) was restricting certain packets i.e. gaming and that I needed to call them and take those restrictions off. Does this sound like a real thing? I am at my wits end trying to figure wtf is going on. Any help?

Re: Ping and Steam Connection Issues
The Steam thing might not be our your end. Steam actually got attacked (DoS) over the holidays. I'm not having any issues now...but some users still might be.

Re: Ping and Steam Connection Issues
I finally fixed my issue, but it raises a new question.
Long story short, I discovered that my wireless adapter that was built into my comp was the problem. After some connection juggling I got a new adapter to work and now its performing very well.
Question: what could have been the problem with my OG adapter? How could I do those tests, get good results but still have that be the problem?
