Getting a popup from windows that says it's time to do a backup as it detects failure on the hard disk... collapsed bf4 to give it to me.. now I'm thankfull that it gave me warning in time to backup (drive has been funny the last month or two) need some suggestions as to what to buy, figure no more then 75-150 range I had a 1TB HDD that's lasted for quite some time, may go with that setup again because well, the tax return is coming but it might not get here in time with the warnings windows is flashing..heh

Re: Apparent Hardrive Issue....
I have ~25 drives sitting on my desk being seagates, western digitals, samsungs, and hitachi with I think a toshiba thrown in there too. I have 4 other dead drives sitting there as well. Of the dead drives, 3 are western digital, 1 is seagate. Your mileage may vary, but as I said... failure rate is pretty much the same across the board.

Kanati is right, pretty much any drive is fine. Just buy based on your budget.
Uptime, heat and movement are larger factors on disk life.
You might want to download crystaldiskinfo and check the health of your disks.“One of the most difficult tasks men can perform, however much others may despise it, is the invention of good games.” ― C.G. Jung
