    New Z97 boards

I was looking around on Newegg and saw the new Z97 boards. The thing that struck me as odd is that the boards are much cheaper than their Z87 counterparts. Any know why? I have a 4770K sitting in around waiting for a home and I love getting better tech for less. Are the Z97s better?

The one thing I did notice was the ability to do a RAID 5 natively.

I am not sure why they would be cheaper, however from what I can tell they don't add a whole lot over the Z87 chipset. No additional lanes, same architecture, still no native USB3. It seems the selling points for the z97 are native RAID5 and native SATA express.

    X99

I have an x79 board now with a 3930. I almost prefer my 4770K over it TBH. But, it'll be a while before the x99s come out. They will support DDR4 which isn't available yet.
