I've been to best buy. I know 4k is better, fucking picture is outstanding.

lol....and as I said, what good is that picture going to do you if your response time is shit, coupled with input lag? What's being shown on those TV's at Best Buy? You guessed it....movies. Not PC games. It's not the same thing.

    Re: Building a new rig

There are some 4k tv's that have a reasonable input lag. The visio p and m series; some samsung js and ju series... Those are 25 or less milliseconds. Most GOOD monitors are 10-15ms, but there's plenty of monitors out there in the same range as the TVs. Anything less than 50ms is going to be fine with 25 or under being optimal. So yes Virginia... you CAN get a 4k tv and use it as a monitor. As long as you know what you are looking for. Otherwise you could easily get one with an 80ms or higher input lag and that will just ruin your 1337 gaming skeelz.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.

2560x1440 is still the sweet spot for gaming, in my opinion. Add on 144Hz Gsync with 1ms response... I can't go back. Nvidia has spoiled me.

It does require some GPU horsepower, so I would recommend getting two GPUs if you want to run a 144Hz monitor near the high end spec.

10-15? Shit, mine is 5ms, and it's hardly top of the crop anymore.

I haven't had any need of a second gpu running my rogue swift at 144hz and maxing settings on battlefield, call of duty, mad max or world of warcraft. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Lol

What GPU? I don't think any single GPU card can run BF4 at max on the ROG SWIFT and get near the 140 FPS mark. You might be above 60FPS, but your SWIFT was a lot more head room. I typically run around 120FPS with my 3 x GTX 980 cards.

My ASUS Strix 980ti doesn't get me to 144fps in BF4 you are correct but I am well above 60fps yes. Maybe I need a second Strix.
