Re: I need your expert knowledge.
Personally.. I love the hell out of the logitechs but I think they have an issue with build quality. Every single one of them I've owned has broken despite being babied. I got a set of Corsairs from someone here and haven't had one bit of a problem with them. They fit well. They are comfortable. I recommend them.
You can get them from 40 dollars to 300 dollars... I think somewhere in between is probably best.

I'll need to go to Fry's and try out the feeling of the headsets. I will probly choose one that will not squish my ears from wearing it for 5 hours plus. $100 is too pricey for me.
What do you think of these models?

Re: I need your expert knowledge.
I am the biggest complainer when it comes to headsets not being comfortable, and in all the headsets I've bought and never used, the HyperX Cloud 2 is SOOOOO good. Amazing sound and surround sound, you almost don't even feel them on you, they can take a beating, and they are only $100. The older models are good as well, they just forfeit surround sound and how much of a beating they can take. Hyper X Cloud II

I've used a fair number of gaming headsets over the last several years, here are my thought on ones I would recommend :
My reccommendations:
- Logitech G933 - wired or wireless support, excellent mic, superior build quality to anything logitech has done in the past, decent battery life, and fantastic sound/driver support: $200ish You can get the G633 for slightly cheaper (wired only), but having the versatility of using either wireless or 3.5mm wired is worth the extra $30-40 in my opinion.
- Sennheiser G4me Zero - Exceptional comfort, fabulous mic quality, very sturdy and flexible, incredible sound: maybe slightly less than $200ish. Sennheiser has a whole slew of similar products that all seem pretty exceptional - this, however is the only one I've actually owned and would feel good about recommending.
Good:
- Logitech G35 - I've owned 2 pairs, both broke in the ear joint. It still functions but there's a weak spot. Phenomenal headset if it doesn't break.
- Logitech G930 - I've also owned 2 pars, one of whom broke in the same spot. Phenomenal headset if it doesn't break
- Steelseries Syberia v2 - Solid headset, good sound, decent mic - just wasn't for me but a good buy
Meh:
- Astro A40s - sound good, really comfortable, bad mic kills it as an online gaming headset unless you get a separate mic
- Razer Kraken Pro - sound decent, even worse mic, but very sturdy - hurts wearing for extended periods though

I can recommend the logitech g35 as well, they're usually on sale too around black friday (have been the last few years anyway) I got mine 3 years ago for $45 bucks, sometimes you see them for less.. as salty says they're awesome for the price if yours don't break.. take care of them and you're okay, only ones I had break when I tripped on the cord one day and they shot off the desk and cracked on the table

I use the Razer Tiamat 7.1 headset but for a mic I have a Samson Meteorite. It's so much better than the headset mic.

Just keep in mind the G35s are prone to breaking. I've had two that have borken in the same place. My boss has had three that have broken in the same place. And I've heard many MANY people say the exact same thing. I love the damn things but I can't keep throwing away money on them.
