    Re: New Toy!!

I had an M7700 Area 51 alienware laptop back in 2006 that I used all the way up to a couple years ago and I bought an ASUS G750jw that was pretty good. But I wanted an alienware again. Especially with that 4K screen.

And if the 980M don't have the balls in the future to play a game... I got the breakout graphics amp box that I can put a desktop GPU in and it will use that instead.

On the flipside... Anyone want to buy a reasonably good Asus G750jw?

Probably take 700 for it (think I paid 1295 new). 8GB RAM. Can't remember CPU but it's a good i7. Brand new screen (1080p) I swapped out a month ago. Brand new 1TB evo 850 SSD I swapped out for the platter drive at the same time. GTX 745 or 765 (can't remember). Plays XCom2 at almost full settings just fine.

That is so nice and purrrdy. I just sold my Alienware M11X and got a Yoga 900. I probably wouldn't ever buy an Alienware desktop PC, but they make some good quality notebooks, for sure.

I still have it in my brain that I will never buy them because I remember when they were 4x or more as expensive as an equivalent desktop built yourself.

    Re: New Toy!!

yeah I'm not sure I'd buy their desktops but their laptops are very competitive with any other boutique laptop manufacturer now and even the mainstream stuff like ASUS' ROG machines.
