Total for everything would be $732.95, plus tax/shipping, if applicable. This would give you a far better boost over dropping $500 on a new CPU/Board/Memory, PLUS a graphics card. The GTX 1070 is going to be doing most of the heavy lifting here, but you will also get the benefit of a new SSD for you to install your OS and to install some games on. Keep your existing hard drive for storage and overflow games.
I put in a new CPU cooler because you said how much your other one sucked. I also opted for a new power supply, just because. Often times, your issues could be solved by getting a new PSU, so why not?

Re: thinking bout a new build
In a way, heavy is right about future proofing. The 2011 socket has been pretty steady though has gone over a few revisions. The i3/i5 sockets though have went through different pinouts. 1150, 1152, 1151 (if I remember right that is)... There's no guarantee that with kaby lake or whatever comes next, they won't do another revision... But for ME... if your motherboard is already X years old, and you can afford it... with the failures you've been having lately (no guarantee that memory stick failure isn't a failure on the motherboard), I would personally upgrade mobo/cpu/ram.
My mobo failed recently... CPU and ram were fine. Instead of just finding a new motherboard for what I had... I upgraded cpu and ram as well. I had the money, so I did it. It's not a huge improvement over what I had, but it IS an improvement and I can upgrade the cpu down the road if I want.
Heavy's approach is perfectly fine, as is mine. Neither of us is RIGHT, but one of us spends less. Neither of us is WRONG, but one of us has newer hardware less likely to go tits up later.

Re: thinking bout a new build
yeah i think my best option is to start over from scratch i dont like micro boards anyways a mid case is to small to fit anything in and without a backup computer you can never trouble shoot parts so it seems
so is the build i listed good ? will i be able to upgrade it 2 years down the line ?Rumble liked this post

Depends on what you want to do in 2 years. I wouldn't expect you to be able to drop in a new CPU in 2 years unless you want to buy whatever the latest Motherboard will be as well. The days of upgrading little components a bit at a time are pretty much over with.
For most gaming rigs, I think your CPU/Motherboard/Memory should last you 4 years, but your GPU should be upgraded every 2 years to keep performing well in the latest games.
Since you are doing a new build now, I still recommend getting a newer GPU, even if you are considering getting another GTX 1060, but plan to upgrade the GPU in 2 years. I also recommend you sell your old hardware on Ebay. The CPU is selling for around $150. Sell the old stuff and put the money towards your new system.
