To follow up on that; PSU's are rated for different efficiencies. But the efficiencies are actually curves; usually between 50% and 80% load is where they are most efficient regardless of what efficiency rating they have.

The case seems nice there was one I liked better but it was 16 for shipping so I might look that over before buying and since I'm under budget I guess I can throw in a ssd for 200 or under. And I think since my Windows 8 is oem for builders I can use that on my new machine ??

I feel as if a modular psu would be more convenient but double the price isn't

it doesn't help... and if you are like me when you add something and need to plug in another cable to the psu you have found that the "safe place" you put them... you can't remember where that place is.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.

I have the ASUS ROG Hero VIII which is a Z170 chipset and it has given me no issues. To that point, I would spend a little more on the motherboard though as it is the foundation of your system and the better your foundation the better your system. You can grab a ASUS Z170 Pro for about $150 or an EVGA Z170 FTW for $140.

For PSU, I run the Corsair RM series currently but have used the EVGA units in the past and they are good. You can pick up a semi-modular unit for $65.

Sounds like you may just need someone to give you a shopping list and then you go buy. This is almost as bad as having to go shopping with my wife.
