Gaming Monitors
I just bought a MSI 1080GTX graphics card and now I am in the market to upgrade to my first true gaming monitor. Since I have started playing Online I have never had a good monitor. Currently I am playing on a and this is the best I have ever bought an LG E2350V
I am wanting to buy a new monitor to compliment my 1080GTX. I am currently looking at the following 2 monitors.
ASUS ROG PG279Q Black 27" WQHD IPS 2560X1440, NVIDIA G-Sync Gaming Monitor, 165 Hz refresh Rate, Slim Bezel Design with HDMI USB Ergonomic EyeCare Technology-Newegg.com
and the
BenQ ZOWIE XL2730 Dark-Grey 27" 144Hz 1ms (GTG) e-Sports Gaming Monitor, 350 cd/m2 DCR 12,000,000:1 (1000:1), VESA Mountable, Height & Pivot & Swivel & Tilt Adjustment, Dual HDMI-Newegg.com
I know that the ROG is the best but my question is will I see the difference between these monitors?
Is the additional 250.00 bucks worth it. Keep in mind I have been playing on Office class monitors.

I have the older version of that ROG swift and it blows my mind. I also have an older version of that BenQ as well. Truth be told, even though the difference between 60Hz and 144Hz is night and day, the difference between 144 and 165 is likely indistinguishable.
I believe both of those monitors have TN panels which aren't as great for colors or viewing as a VA or an IPS. The light bleed on my swift and my BenQ end up being pretty bad but I personally think the ROG has the better panel. My BenQ isn't 1440p though and my ROG is so that's where the major difference is.
Gsync is where that cost difference is coming into play though, and personally I think that it makes all the difference in the world. Aside from gsync those monitors are very similar. If you aren't breaking the bank and you really want something that will pair well with that 1080, I would say go with the ROG. That BenQ is still a beast of a monitor and will serve you well, but having gsync totally turned my gaming experience to the next level

Re: Gaming Monitors
I have had a PG278Q and a PG279Q. You can not go wrong with that series. I recently had to return the PG279Q because it was a review sample but if I had the money I would have bought one to replace my PG278Q. The colors are great.
The PG279Q had some serious bleed issues in the beginning but the current ones that has been solved and I loved every minute of using it.
GO G-SYNC!!!!

You might want to remain sitting and have some medical assistance on standby ready when you turn it on...Just saying
