explanation: we decided to remove like 10'ish (give or take) sub-forums that were simply not needed. we found that the topics were mostly off topic conversations, gaming conversations and Nationstates conversations, thus we downsized to the three forums you now see. other than the main three forums, what else is needed? i mean feel free to add suggestions, but we just felt simplicity would be a nice change.

the software change was due to additional costs that aren't needed. vB isn't free and yet there are many free non-licensed PHP board software programs out there that are on par with vB so we decided to look into them. MYBB wasn't our first choice but when it came down to technicalities this was the best overall due to converting the database with less downtime, frustration and errors. it's also built to be more simple. that's what we were aiming for in the end.

DT has gone through a lot of changes since 2005. this is just another one really. can't tell what the future will bring, but perhaps over time we'll re-add forums. again, add suggestions, opinions, whatever.

Alan... You damn well better put in a couple more subforums. I mean... I've seen bare bones, but this shit is hollowed out bones.


Which technically means DT has the potential to fly.

I think that removing some of the forums was a good idea. A lot of the subforums were not active enough to warrant their own section.

But I really think that too many have been removed. The off topic forum is getting 90% of the posts which is ridiculous and making things difficult to navigate.

I'd like to see the news forum brought back. That's been popular from day one.

Movies, TV, youtube vids, peep shows threads, and even the forum games could go into an entertainment forum.

Perhaps combine welcomes, feedback, and announcements into a forum. Won't be extremely active but I'd consider it important to have nonetheless.
