anybody know any really sneaky IE7 tricks?

Ok so here is the deal.
I have to deploy IE7 on my network.
Problem is, I am on an intranet not connected to the internet. I can deploy the install just fine. My problem is that the first time you launch IE7, it skips going to your home page and goes straight to an MS site. After that, it goes to your homepage as normal. My problem is that I cannot put my intranet computers on the internet so it never goes to that site. I have looked everywhere in the registry for that redirection, but cannot find it. I tried googling the problem but came up empty.
I only have it deployed on my test lab computers right now but I need to get it out there.
    Any ideas would be great.

Oh and before you start on all the "IE sucks, use firefox" stuff, I cannot do that. Its not allowed and that is not my decision to make. I personally love firefox and all my home pcs use it. I wish I could use it at work, but we cannot.

    Use Opera!

...seriously, though, that sounds like the splash page you get when you first install it. Once you set all of your security settings, it should go to your homepage as normal. I think.

nope, all security setting are hardset by group policy.
I am the only one allowed to change those on my PC so while that may work for me, it is not a solution for the masses.

Go check out IEAK for version 7. I haven't used it on 7, but I know it would allow you to fully customize IE6 for corporate deployments.

    Howdy!

Hi, my name is Alex, although most just call me Jud. I haven't been playing L4D for too long (only about 2 months) but I really like the game and hope to get better over time. I just found this forum recently (duh) so I thought I would post an intro. Some L4D info on me is:

Favorite character is Bill, no idea why.
Least favorite character is Louis. Yes Louis, we can all see that you are "grabbin' peelz" and no thank you Louis, I don't want an extra "peestol", even if it "might come in handay!"
    Favorite campaign is Dead Air

Some non-L4D info about me is:

I'm a huge airsoft addict, if you play, feel free to hit me up and I'll link you to forums and sites and whatnot.

I love zombie movies, my all-time favorite being Shaun of the Dead, Simon Pegg was great in it!

Alright, I suppose that's it! If you want to set up a game feel free to friend me on Steam, my Steam ID is the same as my username!

Hey, thanks Target! I stalked the forums a bit before I got off my lazy arse to make an account, and from what I've seen it is a great forum! Definitely lots of lulz to be had
