Hmmm.. I have a pile of old CRT's and I rmember cranking some CRTs up to resolutions were it was gibberish.. So while I am not technically informed my experience leads me to believe that CRT's are limited in resolution.

ive seen resolutions for a crt up around 2400 x something or even a little higher if i remember right, my friend had a 22" crt (its was a beast) but it didnt make any difference in his games because most games the max resolution is 1280 x whatever (maybe a lil higher now ive got a widescreen so its different for me).

When i got my lcd i was using the vga adaptor and my friend told me to just get the dvi it was like $10 and would make a world of difference, sadly to say i havent seen any improvement, so i dont think you really lose any quality by using that adapter. but thats just my opinion i dont know if there are actual stats or anything that prove that

To clarify, some CRTs are built to specific resolution limits... not that CRTs in general are completely limited relative to LCDs.

I have seen 'em up 2400 and look perfect alternatively I have turned some past 1024 and had gibberish displayed.

It was recently announced that Bioshock 2 AND Red Dead Redemption are being pushed back into 2010!

This frustrates me, as I have preordered Bioshock 2, choosing it as one of the two games this November (L4D 2 was the second game I pre-ordered).

Knowing that my pre-order isn't valid until next year, I may be forced to cancel it for Modern Warfare 2.

Also: Quick announcement, the "Prestige" edition of Modern Warfare 2 is now coming with fully functional NIGHT VISION GOGGLES.

And I am sad to hear about Bioshock 2 being delayed. On the plus side, it gives those without large amounts of money fewer great games to choose between. Now I won't be straining my mind over which games to play.
