water cooling worth it?
I've always wondered if it was worth it to get a nice water cooling set up. i figured that it would get rid of alot of the fan noise but not all of it. There doesnt seem to be much of an improvement with all the numbers that i see except for duration tests basically. But even then it seem that alot of the pumps dont even cool off the water(liquid) that well for hours on end.
Everyone knows that heat is the enemy of the computer and im hoping with my new build i can have it for a couple years running tip top. So ive always wondered if the water cooling would help it stay healthy for the long run.

seems like it might be worth it. ive also seen some of those "fanless" reservoirs but that just doesnt seem like it would be all that efficient. Plus they look like those hot water heaters in old houses . I guess what im asking is: is it worth it to spend another 200 on something that may or may not help my comp stay alive ( i realize there are risks of parts going bad randomly too tho, but my old set up has lasted me a long time)

Re: water cooling worth it?
The mobo you ordered is quite nice and probably has fan connectors that can be configured to slow down as the computer draws less juice.
My system has "ASUS Q-Fan", and when my system is not running warm (not playing 3d games) it is pretty darn quiet... the fans reduce down to about 33% of their top speed. And if you are blastin' fools, you probably dont care if the fans spin up hard.
Water cooling is expensive, but if you really want to be an Over clocker it is a decent choice. Although I can overclock my system to 125% and it's stable with only air cooling.
Alternatively to on-board fan controller there are myriad front panel controllers... I actually added several extra fans to my rig but put them on a rheostat I assembled and a switch so if I am not gaming I can just turn them off and run only the 4 80mm hooked to the mobo. It works great and costs a lot less than water cooling; I go air cooled personally. I imagine water cooling works really well, water likes to soak up energy!
And water cooling gives you major bragging rights!

What about L4D2?
Are we allowed to arrange a simple, first campaign for teh seeckwul?
Well, im gonna arrange one right in this thread.
Okay, so it will be november 24th, i believe one week after the second outbreak (lulz) so that'll give people time to prepare if on vacation or whatever.
It shall be on normal, as some people may not be used to some new game mechanic, the maps, or whatever. I shall create the lobby, and you can join from there.
EDIT: oh yeah, the time shall be 5:30 PM GMT -7
Send me a friend request if you wanna, and post here also which character you wish to be.
