Hey everyone! After do a 3DMark test I got a score of under 2000 really disapointing for me. After looking into it more my main problem is my cpu. I have the best amd cpu my mother board can hold. So in order to update i need a new mother board and cpu. I started looking on my favortie site Tigerdirect.com and found all the things i need and a few extra things that would be good to have new ones off. I really dont need it all but I do need the motherboard, cpu. Anything thing to add would be great.

I'm pretty sure that if I am looking at your wish list then the CPU is not the problem. Core2 Extreme??

Don't get a Core 2 Extreme. For over half the price you can get a quad core that will be able run anything you throw at & some with flying colors..

Well what mobo, proc and video card do you have now? The bottleneck might be somewhere else. How much RAM? etc...

That wishlist is a hell of a rig; that CPU is a little pricey though considering that in a few months it will plummet in price.

great set up except...video card, and ram? that processor will destroy the 3dmark06, but you might need a video card equivalent so your system isnt just waiting for your video card to perform. if you got the money to blow on the core2 extreme you might as well get one of those systems that gets a benchmark of close to 20000.

I was running a 3500+ for quite awhile, it performed awesome with SLI 6600's and then with an 8800. I bet your bottleneck is not the proc.

I'd get a Q6600 from newegg. I could throw some overclocking numbers I've seen, but with that core it's not even needed.

I went from XP 32 to Vista 64 and there were no performance changes except more available memory.

But I am curious about your current mobo, video and RAM. You may not need ot buy a whole new Quad core extreme system just yet!

Although if you do, you did select pretty much the best stuff out there.
