    Vista install Question

Hey, I have vista installed on one HD, but I want to install it on three raided HD's.
Do I have to call MS and tell them what I am doing to be able to install and verify its authenticity?
Or should it let me install it on those HD's?
Cause I am going to wipe the other one clean once I have done that.

You should be able to install it on your raided HD's without a problem. If anything, it just won't let you activate it until your other one is uninstalled/wiped.

Your Windows key can be activated more than one time. I am not sure how many times it can be activated at once. I have a version of XP that I am runnning on two machines, but the last time I did an install, I had to call Microsoft and go throught the automated phone activation bullshit.

Just wondering... why are you installing so many operating systems on one box?

You should just get a copy of Ghost and create an image, which you can span it across serveral DVDs or and external if you have one. Once you have the image created just setup your array then just use ghost to restore your image. Simple and fast plus you will have an image of your drive in case something happens down the road.

Nice Idea, but it is installed now.
    I have it double booted.
Still having some problems with it working right.

Microsoft is pretty hardcore about limiting each install of Vista to one machine. I already had to call just to reformat my laptop =/

It is on the same machine, just on two different HDs on the same machine. I guess that is ok.

I'm sure that would be fine. Give them a call, luckily Microsoft uses American tech support (or well spoken foreigners) because it really was no problem at all when I had to call them.

    Re: Vista install Question

Depends on when you call them or maybe you just got lucky because whenever I've had to call MS support I always seem to get someone who barely speaks English.

And does Ghost even work on Vista? The version I have did not but mine could just be too old and out of date.
