    New Gaming Rig - Pros/Cons

    Can I get some input on the pros and cons of this system. I've put it together and I'm still desperately thinking what can go wrong with the setup I've put together here, any input I will accept. If I get some good opinions here most likely I'll get it ordered and set up, but the replies I get here will most definitely affect the decision of whether I decide to put together this new rig.

    The Processor is just an over-clocked 6000+. So it may run a bit hot. other than that not much of a problem.

    I would hold off on the Ultra's The new nVidia cards are coming out in Feb, also some of the latest benchmarks show that even two ultras wont even be able to handle crysis at MAX with high resolution and AA enabled.

    You get what you pay for, those cards are the best cards currently out, its just that Crysis is that power hungry.

    As of right now, no one knows what the new chips will be capable of. That said their going to be based on the new G92 core, which they just put into the 8800 GT and the 8800 GT is defining itself as the greatest "cheap" Vid card in years, So when they do put it into there Higher-end cards it will be quite fast. As for release date, again we are not sure, but nvidia has always stuck to a tight release schedual for their GPU's and that schdual puts the new card release around Feb. Now their has be rumors that a 8950 GX2 (2 8800 GTX's straped together) will release sometime in Nov, but again that is just a rumor.

    I am just stateing what i can deduct, now one knows entirely how the final version will perform. Here look at this.
    http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/articl...50aHVzaWFzdA==
    This shows a benchmark of the 8800 GTX in crysis. Now we know that an 8800 Ultra has a about a 15% performance delta over the 8800 GTX and SLIing two video cards gives about an 80% increase in performance. So if we look at the charts we can predict that a single 8800 Ultra will get about 36 FPS average with those settings (1600 x 1200 No AA, No AF and Everything at "High" except Shader Q at "Med") and Two 8800 Ultra's should get around 65 FPS. Now those are preaty fiar estimates at how 8800 Ultras should preform with most settings at "High", Let alone "Ultra High" with AA turned on.

    *DISCLAIMER* Now again these are all estimates, but good estimates. This is still baised of off the BETA DEMO using BETA DRIVERS, so the final game should have better performance.

    Their is my two cents, sorry for the long post.

    Oh yeah, thats a 30-incher, no way in hell that two ultras can handle crysis maxed out at those resolutions.
