Do you have any custom maps in your addons folder? If so, move them to another folder and try it again.

Then the next thing I would do is remove your video drivers, and then update them to the latest and greatest.

Hmmm...maybe try deleting the local content, and then reinistalling the game.

Well, I dunno... if other games work fine, and you have essentially deleted the game and reinstalled it, and it still doesn't work right, then I am guessing the game files are fine.

If you have read through the sticky and nothing there helped, then I am not sure what else to suggest.

Maybe someone else will jump in here with a suggestion.

looking at your pc specs and the fact the title screen is ok might suggest that when the game is running the problem occurs.
you have 1gb of ram running windows 7 which is stretching your resources.

iggy correct me if i am wrong but source games are processor/memory hungry rather than graphics card dependant?
is the graphics card been added later (sounds like an old MOBO owing to the AGP socket) if so is your power supply producing enough power? it just seems the problem is when the pc is under load?

do you have any other source engined games like half life etc that work ok or is this your only valve game?

when the games runs in the blue state does it play ok other than the corrupted colours?
have you tried playing with all the setings reduced to minimum ?

these are just suggestions bouncin around my head for consideration.
the fault seems like a hardware fault to me?
without sounding partronising have you checked all leads and sockets because sometimes leads can loosen as they get hot and i have seen a similar problem with a monitor lead that worked its way loose as time went on.

I suppose it is possible that adding some RAM would help. L4D is indeed a resource hog. I don't have Windows 7, but I imagine that regardless, adding RAM would be a good idea.

I have found that L4D uses even more resources than the other Valve games. There have been quite a few folks who have posted here saying that the other games work fine, but that L4D does not.

It certainly could not hurt to power down the PC and reseat all the cards, and it is worth considering if the power supply might be on the way out. Also make sure the video cable is good and tight.

I hate to suggest starting to replace hardware components, especially if other applications work fine.

    But, all good suggestions shep.

Thanks for the suggestions and I will try them, I have already ordered some RAM, upgrading to 3gb so hopefully it will fix it but all of my other games work just fine just a bit slow, modern warfare 2 can't even load. I have tried to run Half-life 2: ep 1 but it was only slow and it was not blue so i figured it had to do with the RAM. Other than that call of duty 4, world in conflict, the sims 3 all work perfectly but they do not demand as much. Only Red alert 3 has some blue patches that showed up after the new graphics card was put in.

    Thanks for the help, Jordan
