The 'Best Bang For The Buck' list is generated based on users' submitted default 3DMark06 results (1280x1024 resolution, no Anti-Aliasing, no Anisotropic filtering) correlated with the lowest price per component from CNet's shopping feeds. The processor used for the lists is Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, which is the most popular processor amongst YouGamers users. All lists are generated and updated twice a day. The performance estimates do not include systems with cooperative adapters enabled.

Please note that the lists do not reflect any official view or performance rankings by YouGamers or Futuremark Corporation. All lists are as is based on user submitted performance data, and component prices by CNet.
    ..............well that settles that.

Pretty cool feature... not surprisingly, all of the top-of-the-line cards are at the bottom by a factor of more than three. Just goes to show that there's a law of diminishing returns when it comes to graphics cards.

Is there an "official" post so to speak for ttp people to post their scores for comparison? A search indicates plenty of bragging or comments but nothing like that..

What you can do is put the "dynamic comparison" link into your forum profile. After you submit your scores to the site, there's a link for it, and then anyone can compare their own system to yours.

It should be noted however that 3dmarks are not the end-all statement on gaming performance. For example, having an SLI system gives you more 3dMarks, but unless you are meeting some specific criteria SLI tends to REDUCE FPS rather than enhance it. Another example is multicore procs; there are only a smattering of multi core optimized games out there right now, the best gaming performance can be had on a SINGLE core machine with nothing running in the background. And quad cores tend to perform less well for games than dual cores; more cores means more overhead which slightly degrades single threaded programs.

I consider 3dmarks ot be a good indicator of POTENTIAL gaming power.

But generally, if you are hitting 9000+ 3dmarks you are smokin' on most games.

    2 more cents.

Bah, 6158 will play everything here at TTP real nice I imagine. Maybe you will have to turn a thing or two down in 2142, but BF2 on down oughtta be top notch with 4x AA.

hey, my goal is to play on titans with no fps droppage... the moment I step onto one in an intense fight I go down to 2-5 fps.. and that ... just doesn't work, I'll not use the kind of language here I use in game to describe it.. I know that people can play on it with good FPS, I just want to get my rig setup to do it.. I'm turning ALL the graphics options off as the next step I think..sigh
