Don't get Vista, get Windows XP. Many games aren't compatable with Vista and many others have issues with it.

that is a DX9 card and you have less than 2 gigs of RAM. You have no reason to use Vista, stick with XP for now!

It runs *perfectly* for me. And I play: Oblivion, Source games, BF2, BF2142, Civ 4, NWN 2.

To my knowledge there is a bug with BF2 and BF2142 using greater than 2 gigs, but there is also a fix. To my knowledge, games are the software that is most compatible with Vista currently. the problem was driver support and it seems to work fine now. My windows system is super stable and super smooth (now that creative fixed the f'in 64 bit driver!).

but, with no DX10 hardware and less than 2 gigs of RAM, there is no reason to use Vista.

    Re: Vista

so that's why BF2 doesn't work for me! I've got 2 gigs of RAM in my computer running Vista and everytime I install, I just get errors.

    how'd you fix that again?

And also, Vista is the bomb if you can get 3-4 gigs of RAM on your computer.

Ah the error I am talking about is for GREATER than 2 gigs. so 2.25, 2.5, 2.75, 3, etc... but 2 or lower and the error I speak of does not apply.

What is the error message you get?
