    Sound cards are overrated.....
I went from onboard to the X-FI xtremegamer (on newegg 79.99 with a $40 rebate at the time) and I am extremely glad I bought it. Whenever I flew the gunship in BF2142 my speakers crackled and popped constantly and now my sound is very smooth and my speakers sound much better. I can't speak for cpu performance gains because I upgraded the rest of my system a couple days later and didn't do testing. But I am definitely glad I picked up a sound card. I am not much of an audiophile so I do not think a $150 plus sound card would be worth it to me, but even picking up a cheap sound card will eliminate issues with onboard.

If you are still looking at purchasing a new computer I ran into a great deal on a Dell XPS.

    http://forums.anandtech.com/messagev...&enterthread=y

I picked one up and added a Dual ATI TV Wonder with Digital Cable tuner so don't have to pay for a box from Comcast anymore. I am still waiting on this part to be shipped but already have the box. The box seems to be very nice but haven't used it much since it will just act as a media server to my house but the specs should be great for a gaming computer. Theprice is cheaper than what you were building plus you get 1 year on-site warranty. It only has 1 PCIE X16 slot so no SLI but that doesn't seem to be the way to go anyway.

If you don't know the answer don't make shit up, don't act like you know, and don't come in a tech thread and mouth off some bullshit statement that could otherwise confuse people that really need accurate answers. If someone wanted more info, they could easily ask me, i have no problem giving details. I was only sarcastically saying your comment wasn't true...chump

hostility is unnecessary. Cecil WAS right....somewhat.....since SATA has traditionally been a pain in the ass to install. Especially if you have an older winXP disk (like me, and likely a lot of people).

But for new installs, with new OS disks...the drivers (or at least minimal drivers) will be there, ready for use.

    Mobs generates Choke

    YouTube - Left 4 Dead (Choking Sh*t)

Every mob spawn I get that choke

I tried changing my ISP, same thing
    Trying with different values for cl_interp (0,067;0,1) cl_interpratio (1-2), cl_updaterate(30-101), cl_cmdrate (30-101), rate (10000-30000)

What kind of graphics card do you have? Because it might be a graphical issue.

ehm, If I can record a 30 fps video at 1280 x 720 it's supposed to be enough to generate a mob without choking, It's a 4850 and as you can see in the video, the Graphics were set to low

It doesn't matter which resolution I use (I normally play on 1680 x 1050, for the video 1280 x 720) it will always get choky :B, the thing is that when a mob comes, the choke value goes up ALWAYS (event or boomer), to 50, so I suppose that It's a config matter, I'll try to reinstall because the beginning of this was when I accidentally uninstalled L4D and reinstalled, but after that I format C:'d my computer and I did a backup (steam feature) of all steam games, that save the config? because I'm still having the same problem

    I'm not using a router

There should be some kind of network config file you can delete to reset the values to default... Let me check on that.
