Hmm no instruction booklet for this one, will have to poke around on some overclock forums.

The only time I ever overclocked was in 1999 on a Celeron 366MHz OCed to 533MHz. I ran into a bunch of weird problems, mainly that large RAR and ZIP archives ran into errors when uncompressing.

Since then, I've never overclocked a machine. I can run every single game I play maxed out. Why stress my hardware any more?

It's linked in my original post. But I just added it to my profile also to make it easy for you. :10 My link is not the same format as yours but I think it is good.

No, it supports about 3GB. I had 2GB for a year, and just bought 2GB more for $25. Couldn't pass the offer up, even if I'm only utilizing half of it now.

Save it as a project and then link it.

That way if you're logged in to 3dmark, and you click my profile linek, it gives us an automatic compare/contrast.

Still 9300 isn't bad at ALL.

Re: New 8800GT, first time ever running 3DMark... reasonable results?

    I Got right at 10k with an amd x2 3800 running at 3.0ghz( 300x10 ) and an 8800GT.
Now im hitting 13k with an e4300 at 3.2 ghz, click my 3dmark link.. Furturemark is reading my cpu as a e6300 for some weird reason. I used minimal voltage to get there to 1.375 to be exact.. hits 45 to 46c under load running stanford folding at home ( folding protein molecules to find cures for cancer ect ) Did the same with my amd rig for 2 years and never stressed anything. Hardware has come along way since 1999.
You could get alot more out of that rig. And not stress it at all.. That is if you take the proper precautions.
If you guys need or want to learn more about overclocking you should visit www.blazingpc.com some of the best overclockers in the world hang out there and have an amazing amount of knowledge.

My e6400, NOT O/C'ed, with a pretty good Zalman HSF, idles in the low 40's. It loads in the high 50's. I don't know what I'm doing wrong that everybody else seems to runs so much cooler.

But again, if I can run every game I play maxed out, why do I need to OC? I'm sure it's possible to do with minimal stress, but I have a hard time believing that OC "doesn't stress anything at all."
