Sure it put SOME stress on it .. but like i said if you take the right precautions your fine..
When you put your cooler on how much paste did you apply? I used a grain of rice sized amount.. And I am using a scythe inifinity with 2 120mm panaflows in a push pull setup. I also have very good case ventilation.
And i lapped the surface of the cpu and the heat sink to make sure they are 100% flat.
But now back to the stress part.. Look at it this way, the average life of a cpu is about 5 to 10 years at stock voltage... Overclocked it might shorten the life of that cpu by about 6 months.. So the loss is negligible... That is if you do it right and have good cooling and not use an excessive amount of voltage.
I am able to go from 1.8ghz stock to 3.2 ghz .. stock voltage is 1.325 and i am using 1.375.

Good reads
Yes this is a thread about reading; you know, the things we do if our TVs and computers aren't working. Anyways, What are some of your favorite/best books you've read either recently or way back when?
As for me; My favorites include All Quiet on the Western Front, to Kill a Mockingbird, The Odyssey, Beowulf, Grendel, Peter and the Starcatchers, and The Body.
What are yours? Hopefully I can find something else to read soon enough.Parlock: I'm sorry, I'm an idiot who can't read XD.Teenracer6: I hate salt, it's too salty.Parlock: Taking in TP's sweet, sweet buttsweat didn't make me gag

First up, Friedrich Nietzsche:
- The Gay Science
- Thus Spoke Zarathustra
- Beyond Good and Evil
- The Antichrist
I've read these four and all of them were very good. Looking forward to reading the rest of his work someday.
Some quotes:
"Those who cannot understand how to put their thoughts on ice should not enter into the heat of debate." -- Nietzsche
"This is the hardest of all: to close the open hand out of love, and keep modest as a giver." -- Nietzsche
"There is not enough love and goodness in the world to permit giving any of it away to imaginary beings. " --Friedrich Nietzsche
"Is man one of God's blunders? Or is God one of man's blunders?" --Friedrich Nietzsche
I love this guy, so much truth in his words. ^^
Next, Adolf Hitler:
- Mein Kampf
Want to learn why this man did the things he did? Read this book. It is banned in half of the world (or was at one point) and most of the English translations are heavily edited. So you'll need to do a bit of searching to find the real deal. I recommend reading the English translation by James Murphy, and you'll need to find an early edition or a re-print of it.
I haven't finished it yet mostly because it is a huge book and he spends a lot of time ranting. But thus far it has been a good read. I especially enjoyed the early parts of the book where Hilter describes his childhood and the time he spent on the front lines in World War 1.
Next: War and Peace. Read it, now.
My favorite book? The Art of War by Sun Tzu. If you want to give it a read you can find it for free on the internet here: Online Reader - Project Gutenberg
