Blue screen of death
My rig has been acting up lately. about a month ago i start having one or two blue crashes but then lately its been really bad to were it crashes anywhere between 25 to 35 or more a day. The bad part is that everytime it crashes i gives a different code so idk even know what is really wrong with my rig. Some one told me that my hard drive is going bad. Is that right? My hard drive is about 2years old and its only a 80Gb.
What should I do?

Re: Blue screen of death
Depending on the amount of time you want to spend...you can down load and install Debug and get a dump of the files loaded into memory. The Debug will show you where you system kicks out the error. Unless you're really up on this kind of stuff ( I wasn't), the mem dump cam be a little cryptic. I was able to email it to a MS customer service tech and was told it was my sound card drivers. I updated the drivers and problem solved. I took me many weeks of frustration to get that far.
PS Also try searching the error code on MS's knowledge base. That's where I learned about the Debug utility.
Hope this helps.

Hey Maf,
Usually when its HD trouble you will get errors popping up in your event viewer under the system log.
Did you install anything recently (a driver, a piece of hardware)?
Did you overclock your system?
Also, windows is prone to the BSOD - a good repair of Windows could help as well.

Other than that... just troubleshoot. Fire it up with nothing in it but minimal CPU and RAM, try to make it crash, add hardware until crash occurs.
In the end, if it has been a long time, just reinistall everything. I like to reinstall all my systems once yearly.
