    Not at low resoultions. When I use any of the 3 SLI multi-GPU modes at 1280x1024 on ANY game I lose frames, as soon as I get that resolution over 1600x1200 I gain frames. If you look at the difference in the framrates in that comparison I may as well be using only one card at that low of a resolution. I will go turn up the res to 1200x1600 and run it, and then we should see the SLI mode outperforming the Single GPU results.

    SLI is marketing hyper for the lower than 1600x1200 resolution crowd to sell more GPUs, it really does not help much with DX9 based software. If Lightmark were DX10 things might be different; a deeper frame buffer grants much better results from SLI and high end cards.

    Here's my machine -- I've got an overclocked q6600 at 3.2 with 4 gb and an EVGA 8800 GT factory overclocked. All of this is running in XP64 give me 384.7. I'm not sure why this score is ridiculously high , but I ran it in 1600x1200 and it was still 295.

    Legible version

    I was wrong. They still perform very similarly at 1600x1200:
    No SLI @ 1600x1200 = 168.3fps avg.
    AFR1 @ 1600x1200 = 168.1fps avg.
    AFR2 @ 1600x1200 = 167.8fps avg.
    SFR @ 1600x1200 = 167.8fps avg.

    Really when I run BF2 at 1600x1200 and turn on SLI I gain about 10fps avg. When I use SLI with BF2 at 1280x1024 I lose about 7fps avg. Oblivion runs much better in SLI at 1600x1200 and loses frames in SLI at 1280x1024.

    I did have some things running in the background: Daemon tools and a couple images mounted, Xfire, Vent, Setpoint, etc. Maybe I will make a clean profile and bench it with nothing running.

    I do have some crap running in the background...

    Ran this a couple of times. clocked the graphics up to 726/1815/1926. not bad at all. also i finally got my 3dmarks above 13k...score was 13039!
    1280x1024 = 314fps

    1680x1050 = 275fps

    The test is cpu dependent to, so if you have a core 2 or a more powerful cpu your score will be higher than his. ... I went from 289 with a AMD x2 3800 and 8800GT to 424 with a core 2 duo and 8800GT.. so cpu plays a big role in this.

    interesting, i have a core 2 duo and well you saw my score...its a 3.6GHz 6850...could your gpu be pushing you up 100 points more than my score?

    This is with e6850 standard and a nvidia 8600gt 512mb card slightly OC at the 1280x768 res which i usually use for gaming. Ill post another at the higher res in a moment.

    This is with the higher res....Groove, do you think i could get more out of this rig and how? I cant find how to turn the stepping off in bios or at least it is not jumping out at me.
