Hard Drive Solution
Help me if you can.
My bday is on the 18th and I need more hard drive space. My new build has this hard drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136033
so not that large.
I cant decide if i should go with an external HDD or another internal. Can you guys give recommendations. All i use my computer for us gaming and school.
I will probably store lots of pictures, school files, music on this thing. However, I don't need that much space. I am thinking no more than 250GB is needed and I could even go less no problem.
Should I get another raptor? if i do, should i get a matching 74GB or will a 150GB drive work? do i raid them or is there another possibility? is external the way to go? lots of options and id like to hear what you guys have experienced.

Re: Hard Drive Solution
I have that raptor, I needed more space so i just bought one of these:

Its fast, lots of space and is cheap. Something similar will fit the bill. No real reason for you to get another raptor.

Re: Hard Drive Solution
Just buy a big cheap internal drive like McStrange suggested... HDDs are dirt ass cheap these days.
I run 2 160gb SATA disks in RAID0 and then keep all my documents, data, etc. stored on another big old 500 Gb HDD... works fine.
100 bucks for a 500Gb, and just keep everything but your programs and immediate documents on it. Leave your system on the Raptor for high speed access.

Re: Hard Drive Solution
Majority of the time, your new drive will come with a CD. On that cd, you'll find a few utilities, including what is needed to get your drive up and running. Make sure to check out the directions.. Everything needed to get your drive up and running, including how to do it, will be in the box with your HD. Make sure you have an open SATA port before you buy a SATA drive!
