I just bumped my oc to 3.3 on my cpu... I'm up to 17162 on 3dmark 06. That's not too shabby for a non i7 or superclocked machine.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.

17468 but I think I've tweaked as much as I can tweak without better cooling.

Beating supercarl is his cue to buy a new machine and reset the bar by which all shall strive to bench at.

P30185 3DMarks!!! So I broke 30k on air. I have my Corsair H70 CPU cooler coming in this week. It is a closed loop water cooler, so not an extreme water cooler by any means. I am just looking to shave a few degrees off of my CPU temps.

Awesome! I have an H50 in a push/pull setup that works great. The H70 has a much improved radiator. Post your temps after you get it.

I've been contemplating an H70 myself to cut down on the noise of the stock AMD CPU cooler when gaming.

CPU Pentium Dual Core E5300 @2.60GHz overclocked to 3.7GHz seems to be working with voltage at 1.42500V

Graphics card XFX Radeon 5770 overclocked the GPU clock to 900 and mem clock to 1300

    15331 3DMarks

i've got liquid cooling. anyone think i could increase my voltage a little and push it even more?
right now my cpu is at 28C idle and usually doesn't get above 55C under load

You need to do a long tern test. Install Prime95 and Hardware Monitor. Run Prime 95 and see if it is stable over night. Typically 8-12 hours running Prime95 stress test without any workers failing means you have a fairly stable overclock. Hardware Monitor will record your peak temp during the stress test. 55c under load seems pretty low for 1.425v. I never had temps like that under a full load with any of my Core 2 Duo CPUs.

If you are running temps that low at that high of voltage, I would think you are okay. Getting an extra 100-200MHz out of the chip probably will probably give you only minimal performance gains. You are already overclocking that chip by 42%, which is a fantastic overclock. I don't think the extra voltage and heat is worth the small gains in performance. Keep it cool and stable.

The fans that come with the H70 are not exactly quiet. I replaced them with some high cfm fans (120 x 38 mm) that push a shit ton of air, but they are noisy as well. This was nothing a couple of Zalman fan controllers didn't fix.

IDK, I love the sound of my computer fans, except when I am watching TV, or Trying to sleep, or when I do not have my headphones on or....
