Keyboard not working.

I have a Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 1.0A, and most of the keys have stopped working. Buttons like the ones that automatically bring up Firefox still work, but my normal buttons (letters, numbers, F keys, etc.) do not work. The F keys have not worked for some time now, but this is the first I've noticed the other keys not working. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How old is the keyboard? It could be going bad and you might need to replace it, or a simple cleaning of the keys could help.

I've seen that happen when one button on the keyboard is stuck down, or jammed for some reason. I would just carefully look over the keyboard, and make sure none of them are depressed/stuck.

Uh, there's your problem, there may be occasional interference due to the Earth's Magnetic field, but I wouldn't think that those are significant enough. Check for cell phones/metal getting in the way. Otherwise, I'd ditch the wireless altogether, wired is much more reliable.

The key board is only a year old. I'll see about cleaning it.... Well, it's cleaner, and none of the keys are stuck, so it's time for a new keyboard. At least the mouse still works wonderfully. Ergonomic...nomic...nomic
Unfortunately, I will probably get a wireless again as I only have 6 USB ports on my laptop.

Can't believe I forgot the link. It's to the logitech G15. Nice keyboard. Just look it up on Newegg or your favorite online warehouse.

A keyboard and mouse are something quite necessary for school work (especially using NX 5.0; using a touch pad with that is hell) so money probably won't be an issue.

logitech always comes out with some killer stuff..but don't forget if you arent looking for fancy stuff just go with a basic microsoft laser or opical mouse and a keyboard is a keyboard..not much upgrading you can do there..just find one that is comfortable.

Check for paper clips under your keys....you don't know how many times I have told people to do that and it works. Seeing as though you have several keys our I can only assume it is hardware failure.

My thoughts exactly...

Give it a cleaning, make sure keys are not stuck down, make sure it's battery is charged enough, if it still behaves this way, it is probably broken.
