A great case is CRUCIAL, probably one of the most important components when your building a good box.
Saying the more you spend the better is ridiculous.
You can get a fine case for a hell of a lot less; that Antec Nine Hundred thing is only 120 and can be had for less when rebates roll around and thats one of most airflowy cases out there.

If thats the case for PonCe, more power too him, its a fine looking case.

The amount of money you spend has no relationship to the quality of cooling said case provides, but if you truly believe that I have a couple 1000 dollar cases in the closet for you.
    I accept paypal.

While you're right in that you can save $100 on the hard drive, I disagree heartily with your implied reasoning with a specific reason from my experience: the Raptor 10k drives make superior boot drives. The speed of the Raptor's access time makes a huge difference in responsiveness when dealing with large quantities of small files, which pretty much describes your boot drive in Windows.

My fiance's system is less spec'd out than mine, but damn does her OS respond faster because she has the 150GB Raptor.

I changed to 2 74 gig hd's, 2x2gig sticks of ram and my processor from a 6700 to a 6600 to save a bit of money. Saving this money might make me buy another graphics card though... not sure. And im still getting the stuff so no 3dmark yet. And on that case there rage... im able to have 9 120mm fans in it. + im thinking of adding all the cooling components to the case. It may get a lil loud but im looking to keep it as cool as i can. Again im new to this shit so its gonna be a bitch :10

True, but the actual physical quality of the case is a factor when spending...the less you spend,, the less durable...i know this from buying 30 cases over the last 10 years. I spent more, i got a better, more sturdy case that physically lasted longer...the less i spent, the more small parts would break, come loose and the things would never last. You also get better features like snap in holders, slide/snap in HD and CD...more spots for optional fan slots etc. . ..

Re: How much $$ is too much?

Help me understand this for those into all this OCing. You want to spend ~$2500 for a system, now granted that includes a monitor, so say ~$2200. I paid ~$800 including my OS for just may case and components, no monitor, KB, mouse, or speakers. I play every game TTP hosts except Arma and COD4, and I play them all at their highest settings. What exactly are you getting for your extra ~$1400 other than bragging rights?

If there truly is something I would like to know because I am sure I can do some OCing myself to get it. If it is just planning for future games, then what about all the new components that come out before, or at the same time as, the future games. You will be behind the curve there. If it is for things other than gaming, that is cool. If it is just to brag about e-penile scores then I will just go back to gaming for that.

Yeah that would really help out knowing that im going to have alot of fans to have to deal with. Being able to control them outside the case would help out that much more. Again im still able to change what im going to get and any help on more stuff or better stuff is never rejected.

Yes im going to OC the shit out of this, but it isnt just for bragging rights. My first computer was all made up of my buddies used parts..except the case. So me planning to build a new rig doesnt front me having to spend plenty of money. And after this im not planning to updat much afterwards, maybe just the video card then the 9800's come out but that will be it for a long time. Next one will be for my wifey

Same I paid about 1400 in all for everything...literally. I honestly think you can go cheaper. RAM shouldnt cost that much, and the processor is down in price. Im guess the more expensive parts of that comp will be the mobo and the vid card. Otherwise over 2k is a bit much.

Also, you cant go wrong with the crucial ballistix ram. I have it and it's great. I also have that monitor you listed, excellent monitor as well.
