Re: Solid State Hard Drives
These things are badass and will revolutionize mobile computing. And the implications for faster load times is looking good for the desktops too.
My brother just got a MacBook Air. It is at it's thickest 0.76" and it uses these solid state drives. Puts my damn 7.2lb widescreen laptop to shame in terms of portability.
I wanna see 'em get bigger and a LOT cheaper before I invest...wish I could afford it now though.

Like, taking your whole PC with you on your keychain.
That'd be cool.

They compare the Samsungs and other "low end models" to the MTron, which schools their ass, badly. They also compare a WD Raptor 150GB to the 4 or 5 SSD's. They ALSO RAID-0 2 Mtron 32GB SSD's.......blowing the tops off some shit in the later benchmarks.
Bye bye HD's.

Re: Solid State Hard Drives
They had me until "$1,500 for the 32 GB model"
*gulp*
No increase in BOOT time is worth THAT shit.
My computer boots in around 25 seconds as it is (as best I can estimate just sitting here thinking about it.).
My billable rate is HIGH, but not high enough that Im concerned with 20 seconds of downtime while I wait for my computer to load, LOL.
