Re: Solid State Hard Drives
ssh'd's are loading xp in 3 seconds. easy
my 10,00rpm takes about roughly 8-12 seconds? i think that sounds right, i never sat there an counted as it loads.
It also eats installs, I could only imagine having an sshd you wont even feel the install.

I can't wait till the are able to get the write speeds up as well. And I want to know WHAT THE FUCK you are doing trying to put a hard drive through a 1000g drop... Next thing you know this will be the way to provide intel with out damage.
(pictures) C130 flying over air field at 20,000 feet and drops five of them in a back pack... LOL

Re: Solid State Hard Drives
My understanding is someone came up with tech that will completely transform the amount of space able to be stored on flash memory. If this is correct and comes out in the near future, it will make anything completely pathetic in terms of space. It would be extremely difficult to justify these drives at this price.
I thought you could just run XP off a 8/16 flash drive anyway which is much less expensive than the SDD.

All that aside, I am really excited about the potential of Flash Memory storage drives.
