Re: 3DMark06 results with new vid card
I installed my EVGA 8800 GT 512 G92 Tuesday and got 7125 out of the box. I used nTune software and turned up the GPU to 661mhz and the memory to 1000mhz and booted out a 8175 last night. System is completely stable. Ran TF2 for 2 hours last night and was getting 75-110 fps consistent. I was never under 60. Super quiet and stable temps.

I am running an AMD 64X2 3800 (2.4 GHZ) w/ 2MB OCZ RAM. I did have to bend 5 transistors on my MB to get the card properly seated.
Best $199 upgrade currently available.
PS...My old 7600GS was getting 2125 on 3Dmark.

Re: 3DMark06 results with new vid card
I'll pissed off thinking I actually linked the results of my previous 3dMark score. I think it was around 4100 or so. I have a strong felling that once I get my water block for it things will change. I'm gonna OC the vid card but I'm gonna hit the CPU first.
As far as upgrading the RAM and the memory... U funny man...
I don't think I'm going to be upgrading the Mobo/cpu/mem any time soon. They aint that old. Yeah there is DDR2 and even DDR3 :1 out but I don't wanna spend more money right now for 2000 3dmarks. I played BF2 last night settings all on high with AA x 8 at my native res 1440x900 and didn't skip a beat. I think I noticed some tearing on my monitor but not sure. I do have one question that's not quite on topic but I have the option of setting my monitor to 59,60,70, and 75 hrz. What is the best option? I understood that the number of hrz is basically the max FPS you get but I don't think that's correct so I'm wandering what is the best setting for me.
Back on topic going from the ~4100 3Dmarks I had with my 7800's in SLI to 9309 with my 8800GT I am happy. As long as I break the 10k I'll be ecstatic. The one thing I keep holding back from starting the OC on my computer is while playing BF2 it will freeze compleatly and I have to hit the restart button to reboot. I don' think it has to do with any heat and the only thing I can think of is my memory. I have the Patriot low latency memory and the first batch I had was bad, RMA and I'm it. I ordered a 2nd pair to make 4gig and it was bad. I have to send it off to Patriot as its been to long to send it back to the egg. (Sorry, I got issues...) lol

Also, if you fix your 3dMark link we can all see what Mobo, OS, etc. you are using and might be able to make suggestions.

Re: 3DMark06 results with new vid card
Hmm so there is a bug with many of the A8N series motherboards that causes the RAM timings to be different than the defualt if you plug in more than one stick of memory. So maybe if you load up your BIOS with only one stick of memory in it and check the timings, then reload your BIOS with all your sticks and see if the timings changed. If they did, you can manually enter the correct timings or just check the manufacturers specifications and compare your BIOS that way. I know this was a problem with the A8N SLI Deluxe and A8N SLI premium and the good 'ol A8N. Anyway, perhaps IF the RAM timings are off, it might explain your crashing; but only maybe.
Good luck. That 9.3K is a nice score and your games might seem like new!

Re: 3DMark06 results with new vid card
it works.
any reason that you are putting your ram in slots 1&2? maybe your mobo has your dual channel set that way but most mobos i see have the color coded slots and they are every other one that are the same color so that way if you are using two sticks, they arent next to eachother.
if you arent running in dual channel (the same color slot for both sticks) then you should do that and i bet your score jumps up some not to mention your overall rig performance should increase in everything you do.
