you might just want to take everything out and start completely over, a lot of times you'll find you missed a step.

I'm honestly not sure. I didn't put it together. Where would I look, how would I know?
Go to ASUS website and become familiar with your Mobo's specs:
    http://usa.asus.com/products.aspx?l1...68&modelmenu=1
They will also have the mnuals available in PDF format. Those should tellyou EXACTLY where and what power connectors are on your Mobo.

Now look over your mobo for any power connectors that are not filled.

    20 pin ATX power connector

    20+4 pin ATX power connector

Another version of the 20+4 Pin ATX connector.

4 pin plug (the plug-in for this guy should look like the others, but with 4 holes)

And then the 4 pin in line connectors.

These are PCI-E power connectors and often plug directly into a GPU, and in some cases the Mobo.

There are other types that look like fan/floppy power connectors that I have seen ATI use on their older cards.

Now look over your motherboard and GPU. DO you see any EMPTY plugs that look like they fit the connectors I listed?

    EDIT: Nice work Strange!

Then I'm positive you need to do this below...

You said you disabled the pci-e slot, when infanct your card in running off of that. So turn that back on.

What I mean was load windows ( while using onboard graphics hence so you get picture)

go to Start menu/control panel/performance maintence/system/hardware/device manager and look around. You'll see a network adapter ( thats your physical graphics card) make sure its enabled. Then look for the on board graphics I think it'll be in 'system devices' an look for onboard graphics or 'intergrated'. Make sure that is disabled.

Some cards required direct power from the power supply to the card. Its nomrally a 6 pin plug.

Also what I meant about BIO's is one brand doesnt like another most of the time.

So if you go from say gigabyte mobo, with gigabye drivers installed an try to swap your stuff to a asus mobo it's not going to be fully functional.

If none of the stuff above works, I'd try reformatting first. Again I cant see how the CPU relates to not getting a picture with your graphics card.

Make sure you completely troubleshoot everything before you go off buying new parts, dont be like me. I would by parts because i thought the old were the problem an it turned out that most of the time it wasn't and now I have 3 of everything.
