What is the make and model of the video card? I know its and x550 or whatever, but the specific model and manufacturer might help us to shed some light on things.

"You'll see a network adapter ( thats your physical graphics card) make sure its enabled."

This won't be there if the cards not plugged in.

Well I looked it up and there are no power connectors on GPU itself.. so that eliminates the power connectors not being plugged in... hmmm....

Alright, pretty sure we are on the wrong track here with the plugs.

    So:
You plug in your Video Card, You plug in the monitor into the just plugged in video card.

    You press power.

You open the bios and set primary display adapter to "PCIEx"

YOu then restart and it turns stuff on, as in the fans spin, but nothing else happens?

Does your harddrive spin up at all? What does it say in device manager?

No, I plug in my card and turn on my comp, and nothing happens. It soiunds like it's running, but there's no picture, the lights on my keyboard don't light up, and my moniter stays off.

What I mean was load windows ( while using onboard graphics hence so you get picture)

go to Start menu/control panel/performance maintence/system/hardware/device manager and look around. You'll see a network adapter ( thats your physical graphics card) make sure its enabled. Then look for the on board graphics I think it'll be in 'system devices' an look for onboard graphics or 'intergrated'. Make sure that is disabled.

He is unable to access those tools when his GPU is in the socket. His system wont even boot.
