When I go in the boot menu my PC does not recognize USB, so it is a good thing I have a PS/2 port, and an old PS/2 KB. I do however use USB for everything else.

Many systems do not support USB devices from the BIOS. Many that DO support them support them with limited functionality too; things like the power-on button on my KB doesnt work unless I use a PS2 adapter, and I have a pretty sweet mobo.

I have in fact put PS2 adapters on my mouse and KB.

So yeah, they still have there uses, but they will vanish soon.

Mine doesnt. I have a PS2 Keyboard under my desk because of this... it is a pain in the ass, but at least it works.

Nope, it's optical, but it's still using that bit.

Mine is the Nvidia 590. And it has issues with the power-on button unless I use a PS-2 adapter. All the other features are available except that. And my mobo is loaded with options... I am guessing other KBs may not exhibit this problem. But mine is an example of how not everything is USB compatible yet.

Examples like Civ, Heavy and me are why there are still PS2 plugs on your computer.
