Hurray the systems finally formatting.......Now hopefully when it's thru I can use it again.

Well so far, it's still formatting. If this works than if your HD crashes on a dual HD system than you may still have one that's usable. Heck if it works I can live for now with a 120gb hard drive. Heck with the two of them both working I still had aroung 200gb left unused. This will save buying a new computer for now(thou I still want a new one). I had the wife on a pretty good guilt trip since she was the last one on it when it went down. But of course she wants me to do all possible to get this one working so we dont have to buy a new one now. I keep telling her I need a new one because this one is so old and out dated. So when it broke I was like see I told you we need a new one. But of course she said try to get this one working first. Oh well you win some lose some.

Ok everything is up and running. Now I have a new problem, I can't get online. My modem is working because I'm typing this on my laptop. I called my provider and we went thru all the checks and everything should be working except I still can't connect to the internet with my gaming computer. He said to ask some tech people for further help. I called the place that I got the computer but couldn't get thru. So any of you experts on here have any ideas what to check? I need to get this thing online to reinstall all my games upgrades and play online again.

After you installed did you get the drivers for the NIC?

Wouldn't they be included on the recovery disc? If not then where? I couldn't find anything that said the drivers for that in the stuff I got with the computer. If I have to download them I have no way to get them on there from this laptop. All it has is a DVD drive and not a floppy or cd drive on it. If I remember right the DVD drive is just that and not a copier drive.

A thumbdrive is only $10, whereas a new computer is several hundred or more. It will allow you to DL files to your laptop, then move the to your desktop via USB.
