    I'm back.....

    I have been gone on a long 4 or so weeks, working out of town. I just got home with my newly found cash and am going for a graphics card. There are a few different 8800's out there and i need to know which one to get so ill leave it up to the people that have done the research already to let me know which one is the best. Willing to spend up to 300. So whats out there!??

    8800GTS 512MB is best for your price range. go to newegg and look at whats out there. if you get the gts, make sure not to get the 320 or 640. 512 ftw.

    Most likely, I have the lesser gts with 640 on it, and I run all my games on max with no problems.

    No, they are slower than the GT and even more significanlty slower than the GTS 512, but support Dx10.1. But dont worry about it, there are no DX10.1 titles out yet anyway!

    The 8800 GT 512 is the best performance per dollar, but if you are willing to spend up to 300 then a 8800 GTS 512 is the board to get.

    Remember though: there are 3 different 8800 GTS cards out there;
    8800 GTS 640
    8800 GTS 320
    and the 8800 GTS 512

    The 512 model has a newer core (the G92) and outperforms the 640/320 (which use the G90 core) models significantly.

    Further I recommend eVGA because their quality and service is top notch.

    Here is the superclocked eVGA 8800 GTS 512.

    Originally 314.99, now 269.99 with a 30.00 mail in rebate for a grand total of 239.99. Kick ass right here.

    Re: I'm back.....

    I upgraded from a 7800GS to a 8800GT from EVGA and I was so happy. I play bf2 for the most part and even with every thing set on high and AAx8 I sill was able to load the game with 10 seconds left before the game actually started. There is a 45 second timer for our servers so that will tell you how quick it loads. The gfx are just SWEET and I'm so happy with what I got. There was some issues with the fan staying at like 25% but if you install rivia tuner you can tweak it and its all good.

    I'm totally happy with my purchase.
