Stupid Fan Question - and TEMPS
Here it is...
I want to replace my main fan sucking in air into the front of my computer. The FAN is 120 mm but it is 150 mm from screw to screw (Diagonal). Is this a 120mm fan? Also, I have a blank screen at the back of my computer that is 120mm from corner to corner. Would an 80 mm fan fit in this spot to blow the hot air out?
I guess what I am asking is how far are the screws apart on an 80 mm fan?
Also,
What temps should th ecomp run? I am running speedfan and my highest temp is 40C.
Thanks,
Will

Re: Stupid Fan Question
Fans are measured according to blade diameter, so a 120mm fan has an opening that measures 120mm, and the screws are defined to be a standard distance from the fan shroud (which is the same for all fans).
a 120mm screw-hole to screw-hole is more than likely a 92mm fan (or 9cm, depending on which way the manufacturer claims; try measuring the opening rather than the screws.

Re: Stupid Fan Question - and TEMPS
60 degrees is fine... some people like to cool their cards down to as low as physically possible, but 60 is normal for playing an hour of a relatively taxing game. If it gets too far above 70 C, that's about the time to start wondering why.

Even better, bro.
Check this out.
Print it and cut out the shapes and test fit till the cows come home.

Open the link and maximize the pic (zoom in). The forums shrink the image so don't trust it.
