    Screensaver taxes hardware, stupid concern?

So I found a few really cool screensavers, but thought I heard my video card fan ramping up when I was running them, so I did some tests.

    IDLE:
    GPU:51
    CPU/CORE: 26/40

    DURING SCREENSAVER "LOAD":
    GPU:57
    CPU/CORE: 32/49

Now granted these temps aren't high, but the thing with a screensaver is if you run your PC a lot, the screensaver will also run a LOT. Even when your monitors auto-off... the screensaver will still be running unseen. I'd imagine that running your hardware 5-10 degrees hotter than normal, 24/7 for months on end, would not be a good idea.

    Any thoughts?

http://www.reallyslick.com/ (several really nice ones here)

There are also some cool ones made by Geisswerks, google it. They make the milkdrop plugin for winamp and made something called drempels a long time ago that was pretty cool... active fluid wallpaper 5+ years before vista...

Depends on why you want a screen saver. It's just eye candy for when you walk past it. If you want to reduce your heat, energy bills and extend the life of your video card and monitor (to a very very small degree). Just set it to turn the monitor off and blank screen saver.

    Lobby Gameplay Time shown

The total hours of l4d2 gameplay shown next to the username of the player in the lobby would be hugely time saving.

    Questions:
    Does this mod already exist?
Is a mod like this even possible?

During vs games I shift tab to check how many hours experience people have, this works fine, however it takes far too long. Just a simple number next to peoples names in the lobby showing how many hours gameplay they have would be hugely useful to me. Also if it could add up the total amount of hours on each team and show that too so an easy comparison can be made between the infected and survivor team, that would be awesome.

I have no idea how easy/hard it would be to make something like this, but I'd pay £15 (over paypal only) to anyone that will make it or has already. Contact me for a quick response at egokick@googlemail.com
Although I will check back here occasionally.

Edit: I just realised I put the prefix of a mod under this and it doesn't actually contain any mods, don't know how to change it, hope that isn't too much of a problem.
