OK, about 5 o'clock (EST) last night my ping shot way way up. My CoD:4 ping went from a nice and steady 38-45 to a 400. Its very odd ping, it plays as if theres no difference, except for shotguns. shotguns + ping=bad; apparently. so i tried to rejoin and my ping was too high, so i restarted my computer and it wasn't fixed. I ran a full-blown virus scan (thinking that was a logical explanation) and it came up clean. I really want to fix my ping, i can hardly ever get into the CoD:4 server with it. the high ping continues into other games as well, my 2142 ping is 120 instead of 30, TF2-115 instead of 30, ect. ect. does anyone have any idea of why this would happen and how to fix it? Thanks for hearing me out.

(Note: if this is in the wrong place, im very sorry, i thought that a PC problem should go under PC Hardware and Technology, if this is the wrong place, could an admin move it to the appropriate place?)

Well... is there anyone else using your internet connection... if so, tell them to stop downloading all that pr0n. They'll go blind.

Try resetting your cable/DSL modem. Try resetting your router.. Then the usual tracert/ping tests for bad routing/packet loss.

Every week or two my DSL connection starts to get sluggish. I unplug the router/modem for a minute and then plug it back in. This reboots it and I'm good to go for the next few weeks.

yeah thanks for the help guys. I just remembered that my internets are in Atlanta, and they got ass-raped by a tornado, so thats probably it. Pings better, playable but still higher than normal

Well apparently Jesus is gonna come a'callin' on Saturday and chances are, alot of you will be Ascending. I however, will probably not be joining you. That said, I will be going on a looting spree along with everyone else who didn't make the cut. So as a favor to you, my friends, I will swing by your places first and take all of your old belongings. So if you guys are cool with that, leave your home address as a comment and put whatever you want me to have on your beds before you go. Laptops, Xbox 360 games, iPods, weed. Whatever you feel I could use in the upcoming days before the big showdown between Jesus and Anti Christ.

Is it just me that doesn't buy any of this?, I believe they said the exact same thing in 1994.

Remember 2000?, they said the worlds computers will go haywire and nuclear missiles will be flying around n' shit. Didn't happen..

The world has more chance of ending with some huge meteor comin' to pubstomp us or the sun calling it a day. But hey if it is the end of days i'm going out in style!
