At work we are trying to order a few for testing for the people that think they are important. I'll let you know impressions if we do get some in. But the level of security, privacy and onboard hardware encryption? ? ? ?..... oh yeahhhhhhhh

Lost your key, some nefarious type picks it up and trys to get in to it? 10 wrong passwords and the key is irrevocably WIPED. Another nice feature in the day and age of HIPAA (look it up if you don't know) and SOX.

They are supposed to only be for us military IT types for now.
I will let you know how they are as soon as I have mine in hand.
From what I hear, they work as advertised and do live up to the hype.

We just ordered 80 of them for work. I suppose we can be considered to be government... but we technically aren't.

There's a new version of the IronKey that will allow you, with software from the manufacturer to reformat the IronKey blank again. Currently when it wipes, it's a hunk of useless metal.
